Calligraphy

Forever

When I was a teenager with nothing to do, I discovered my parents' collection of pen points ... and ink and pen holders. So I sat down at my desk in my bedroom and started dipping a pen in the ink. I really had no clue.

Fast forward many years. My mother was quite good at calligraphy (and don't get me going about my Dad!) but there came a point when she asked me to step in for her.

Eventually, I started getting a meager reputation because no one was doing calligraphy anymore! I am proud to say I have done calligraphy for the Senate of Pennsylvania, HARSCO (an international corporation), Milton Hershey School, some very prominent individuals and some down to earth folks who just wanted something "lettered."

Along the way, a couple of creative brides asked me to help with their invitations and other wedding calligraphy.

It's been fun. Yes, I still do it!

A basic Calligraphy Gallery

Everyone has their favorites. Whether a simple poem or something more complex. Keep in mind that you are commissioning an "original" piece of art. For some, you might opt for a computer and a printer. If not, the answer is usually "YES," I can probably do it. Government officials. Big businesses and individuals from Pennsylvania to California to Vermont to Florida.

Yeah ... a GALLERY ... get over it.

I've done a lot of "corporate" or business-related calligraphy. I've done the wedding stuff. I've done often unique one-time projects for people who just wanted something a bit different. I can almost do the style of font you want ... but a quick bit of advice: what I am lettering "on" makes a big difference for how the final product will appear. The "Sheepskin" was on a skiver ... a sheepskin. Usually I work on some kind of paper!

Corporate Resolutions ... Gallery

I got a "good penmanship award" in elementary school. "Cursive" is no longer taught in our schools. So businesses who want a unique "resolution" or some kind of commemorative piece to recognize somebody or some thing, go searching for someone with good handwriting ... or a calligrapher. Unfortunately, I didn't begin taking pictures of everything I have done until more recently. There have been many besides what I am showing . . .

Everything from envelopes, inside and outside, to place cards to the invitation itself.

Yes. I can probably copy your choice of fonts. The paper stock makes a BIG difference. Ask me before you buy. Pricing is flexible based on the font, the complexity, etc. Remember, each finished "invite" is an original.
