Since sometime in 2018 ...

My mother was an artist. My father was an architect. My father taught me to draw a straight line. My mother taught me to shade it.

A "Sea Turtle" . . . a dripping style that I kinda like. It's evolving.

Calligraphy

Since . . . forever.

I first began using my parents' pen points when I was a teenager. I just kept doing "lettering." Now, I'm one of perhaps a dying breed of people who actually know how to dip a pen in a bottle of ink and press it to a piece of paper.

I am very proud that a major, international corporation chose me to do the calligraphy for a series of "resolutions" for retiring board members.

As a small child ...

Pen & Ink

... and occasionally pencil

We all gotta start somewhere and my mother wanted me to learn to draw before I could attempt color. So I had a lot of pencils ... and my parents' ink ... and I would doodle.

This is the Art Association of Harrisburg. My mother joined in the 40s. I'm a member. In 1988 when she was in her 80s, she was asked to sell her original of the AAH. It's part of AAH's permanent collection ... so she asked me to copy her original piece. They never knew the difference!
